Hiking in Brian Head

Southern Utah is the capital for Utah’s best hiking adventures, and Brian Head is close to all the action. Cedar Breaks is a half hour drive from Brian Head, and both the world famous Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park are a one hour drive. Only 20 minutes away is Mammoth Cave, a series of fascinating lava tubes that can be explored with some sturdy hiking shoes and a flashlight. Explore ancient lava fields, hike through high alpine trails surrounded by aspens, and adventure across the outdoors of Southern Utah to enjoy beautiful meadows and wildlife during the summer.

Biking in Brian Head

For mountain biking in a beautiful terrain with perfect weather, Southern Utah’s mountains are the place to go. Mountain bike around Navajo Lake, Red Canyon, Cascade Falls, Brian Head, or many of the other 200 miles of mountain biking trails across Southern Utah. Traverse stunning trails and test your strength though the alpine forests near Brian Head, or take a drive and bike through the red rocks of Utah.

Fishing in Brian Head

Brian Head is a popular place for fishing, offering a handful of various fishing spots just minutes from Brian Head. Aspen Mirror Lake and Brian Head Pond are within walking distance from Brian Head village and are well-stocked with fish for a day of fishing. Both Panguitch Lake and Navajo Lake are within a short distance of Brian Head and also offer great fishing. Swim, boat, or fish at Navajo in the heart of Southern Utah’s forested mountains, or visit the trout-stocked lake of Panguitch, one of Southern Utah’s most popular fishing spots. Fishing licenses are available for purchase in Brian Head Village. Ice fishing is also available in Panguitch during the winter.

Camping in Brian Head

Brian Head is close to many different camping spots, offering a vast array of different desert and mountain environments within a close drive. Camp in Brian Head itself near Brian Head Pond in a campsite surrounded by pine and aspen, or camp at Panguitch Lake, Navajo Lake, or Yankee Meadows Reservoir to be near larger bodies of water for fishing and boating. Te-Ah and Spruces campground are nearby for more alpine camping locations, or travel down to St. George to camp at Sand Hollow or Gunlock to experience camping in the red desert of Utah.
